I was just diagnosed as having degenerative changes in the L5-S1 region with endplate sclerosis. Could this condition contribute to recent painful tailbone pain. and where is the L5-S1 located in the back? this info came as a result of a petscan for lymphoma-not a back specialist. Thank you!

L5-S1 is the last disc or vertebral segment in your lower back, just above your tail bone (sacrum). endplate sclerosis is another word for arthritis. yes, it could have a lot to do with tailbone pain. go see a chiropractor and have an xray done and you should get through this just fine.
