Question
Hi, I have done a bit of research online on skeletal structure to address the issue that is bothering me more and more. I hope that you can clarify this issue for me further. Thank you so much in advance. I am 35 years young. I have never had any known injury on my spine. Except perhaps when I was around 12-13 my friend pushed me too hard and I fell landing with my tailbone on a stone floor. It hurt for about a month if I remember correctly. It didn't bother me since, except that  maybe in my early 20s I noticed my tailbone was bigger then I think it should be and protrudes slightly. That didn't bother me much except recently, less then a year, I can't actually lay on my back flat. It seems as if my sacrum is protruding so much and so unevenly that It feels that in the lower part of my back the only connection of the flat surface under and my back is a small bone, as if there was a smaller then pingpong ball attached to my sacrum. I don't have any pain. However I have to either shift my weight on left buttock or right one to accomplish laying "flat" on my back on the lower part of my back. I am pretty flexible and I do yoga occasionally and regularly for few years before. I have never really had open hips but with yoga it got better. If it helps It was always easier for me to turn my toes inwards then outwards. When I lay on stomach my toes have to be inwards. I try to lay flat by curving my pelvis forward and half of lower back lays flat , but mid and half of upper buttocks is in the air few mm off the ground. Should I be concerned about it and is there a way to fix this issue of not being able to lay on back with my lower back flat to the floor? If I curve my lower back there is no way I can even pretend to lay flat on the sacrum. It simply hurts due to no fat layer between bone and floor If I lay with my full body weight. I am 5.3 and 117 pounds. Thank you !

Answer
I would see a chiropractor and have him/her check out the alignment of your pelvis and sacrum. There must be a misalignment and it doesn't have to be painful to have it out of alignment. you should be able to lay flat without any pain or problems. also, you should be able to turn your toes outward easier than inward. something is wrong and please consult a chiropractor as soon as possible.
