Question
For the past 5 weeks ive had a clicking sensation at the base of my skull upper neck which started after a once off heavy lifting of an old glory box, I have been to the chiropractor who told me this was due to the tissues in my neck but what I was nervous to ask was will this resolve itself with time and treatment or is this tissue damage permanant. Please offer some advice if possible..

Answer
Louisa,

Thank you for you question.  The answer is yes and no. Clicking in the neck can go away and some times it is due to permanent damage via calcification of soft tissues. An x-ray can give you a much better idea about what is going on in your upper neck. A lot of times clicking sensations in the neck will show up years after the inital injury. It would be best to ask your Chiropractor directly about your concern.

Kind regards,
