Question
If a pt is stage iv breast cancer and if the cancer has moved to the spine and if there could be compression in the lower area of the spine would chiropractic help or inversion therapy or anything chiropractic oriented be helpful to that patient?

thanks Todd

Answer
Hi Todd, and Happy new year. I just got back from holiday and saw your question.  I am sorry to report that a person with cancer of the spine should not be having spinal decompression.  As far as chiropractic care - you should speak with your chiropractor and have them asses the entire case. There may be certain pain relieving techniques that may help, but that would exclude decompression. It is probably not a great idea for this person to use inversion therapy, but again please discuss this with your doctor.  This must be judged on a case by case basis. I have treated patients with cancer, however they did not have spinal cancer. Any care that I proposed was discussed with the patient's oncologist to ensure that all was done with the best interest of the patient in mind. I wish you and the patient in question only the very best and the hope for a complete recovery.
If you could would you mind taking a moment out to rate my answer and if possible would you consider rating me Volunteer of the month.

Thanks, and please keep me posted.
