Question
My cousin was in accident and he broke two bones in his neck and he I think he dislocated his spin. He can feel touching of his feet and he can move both arms and hands. Could it be that he temp. damaged a nerves. What or the signs of spinal damaged
Thank YOU for any information provided.

Answer
Hi Liqueta,

Thank you so much for your question.

There is no one answer I can give you. When someone has had a spinal injury, usually there is some disruption in their sensory and motor skills. This can range from tingling to complete loss of feeling and movement. In rare cases, some injuries result in no loss of feeling or movement. Although, there still can be damage to the vertabre such as fractures.

When a dislocation occurs, the vertabre has shifted and in most cases the injured person requires traction and possibly surgery.

I hope this helps and if you have any more questions, please feel free to ask me anytime.

Thanks again,
John McKinzie
