Question
I am a limited radiology tech.  I work in a three physician practice and have a patient who is a quadriplegic coming in the office tomorrow 1-3-07 for a chest x-ray.  Can you give me any tips on how to handle/do these x-rays?  I have the capability of him sitting in a chair while I perform the test.

Answer
I'm sorry- SHERRI, not Shem- my eyes blurred and it looked like an "m".  Wasn't he one of the Stooges??

hi shem- i had a bunch of chest xrays (i glow in the dark now) and the easiest way i found was sitting in my chair with the big flat film behind me, between me and my chair.  your patient may have limited trunk support, which makes this position uncomfortable but generally workable.  If i were you, I'd suggest this way (it also allows patient to stay in chair rather than transfer onto flat table, etc) but ask if they have a way they prefer.  Thanks for taking the time to find out about possibilities- it's nice to see someone go the extra distance!
good luck
leslie
