Question
Dear Chester,
I'm doing a research on databases and services dealing with disabilities, both for the disabled and for the professional: Their effect and significance, how they work, etc.
I'm looking to see how organizations, governments etc are dealing with providing the disabled (and professionals) information.
For example: If I'm a 14 year old girl with some sort of disability - where can I turn to to get help/info?
Is here a central DB/site/other info resource which I can turn to?
(either to get a specific answer, or a general view).
I see in my "vision" - one big site, where I can type in "14 year, visual impered, New York" and get a list with organizations, law, services etc)
I'd be happy to get any information, and/or databases' sites, or other info.
Thanks in advance.

Answer
Dear Ofir,
I understand exactly what you are saying but i dont know of a site that is that general and specific att the same time.
If your dealing with disabilities, deseases, or conditions I suggest you use the search engines that are avaiable on the internet. You should try to be specific as possible. Other resources can be your own community, such as United Way, Human Resourses, Federal, State and local resources.
Most communities have networks of disability groups which can be helpful.
I think you are looking for a database that you can type in all kinds of information to be steered in the right direction. I think lawyers and prosecuters use a similiar type of programs and databases when they research case law. Tou might be able to use a similiar program to create a database for researching disabilities, it would be a extensive task though.
If i can help further, dont hesitate to ask.

Good Luck

Chester
