Question
I am 31 yrs old and have been disabled with epilepsy since I was 6 months old. I have always lived with my parents. I really believe it is time I get out on my own but is it possible. I can't work nor drive. I receive no SSI but have medicaid and medicare that pays around $1800.00 each month for my medicine. Is there any way to go about getting a home of my own in this condition.

Answer
Hi Crystal and thanks for writing,

I guess it depends on whether you would be safe living on your own.  Have you ever looked in to getting a special needs dog that could warn you when a seizure was coming?

I hope it all works out for you,
Margot
