Hand/wrist/forearm pain

Question
Hey Gary,

Thank you in advance for taking the time out of your busy day to review my question. Okay so I've been dealing with pain in my wrists/hand/forearm for over a year now. Prior to the injuries I was working out very hard and religiously. I think I may have upped the weights way faster than my tendons could adjust to. I have stopped working out for 1 whole year (which was extremely hard and depressing for me to do). I've been diagnosed with lateral epicondylitis in both arms. Also I have thumb/wrist pain on both hands on the thumb side. In my left hand, the base of my thumb as been quite swollen for the passed 8 months. I've seen a physio therapist who suggested hydrotherapy and resting/icing/anti inflammatories but none of this has helped. I still have lateral epincondylitis despite the strenghtening exercises I was told to do. And the thumb pain/swelling is still very prominent. When I dropped both of my arms straight down i can feel the blood rushing to my hands, the circulation doesn't seem to be good. Maybe a trapped nerve? On a side note (that may be worth mentioning) my trapezius on my left side is about an inch higher than the right side. Last thing to note is that if I bend my arms (as if to do a bicep curl), as I extend them they shake quite a bit on the way down...bicep issue?

PS I work at a computer desk 8 hours a day 5 days a week and try to practice proper posture.

Thank you in advance for any tips/exercises you may provide. I really appreciate it Gary.

Answer
Hello Ravi,

Sorry to hear about all your pain issues.  I do think I can offer you some helpful suggestions to get rid of your pain.  The good news is that you can probably do a great deal to fix your issues yourself.  And if your hands are unable to do what I suggest then you can have a friend or family member do what I suggest to you.

I'm going to send you to my completely free website, Do-It-Yourself-Joint-Pain-Relief.com
http://www.do-it-yourself-joint-pain-relief.com/
where I show you how to free yourself from joint pain.

Basically, if you think of all the muscles in your body like the rigging (ropes) on a big old-fashioned sailboat, you can begin
to understand that if some of the rigging (muscles) get too tight (from lifting, computing, etc.) then they will begin to torque and compress joints, and yank on the nerves that innervate those areas.  My follow-along videos will show you how to free the tight rigging (muscles) so your joints and nerves have the space and freedom they require to function properly.

I'm going to recommend you go to my Elbow Pain Relief page,
http://www.do-it-yourself-joint-pain-relief.com/elbow-joint-pain.html#.UtXHh2RDu
and my Wrist Pain Relief page,
http://www.do-it-yourself-joint-pain-relief.com/wrist-pain-relief.html#.UtXHqWRD
and my Hand Pain Relief Page,
http://www.do-it-yourself-joint-pain-relief.com/hand-pain-relief.html#.UtXHyGRDu

There will be some overlap in techniques from page to page, so it's not quite as much as it may seem at first glance.  Just follow along with the videos and I do think it will give you substantial relief.
Lastly, you may also want to go to the Neck Pain Relief page as well, as you neck is probably in need of help if you work in front of a computer all day.

I do hope this proves helpful.
All the best,
Gary Crowley
