Question
Does Medicare cover chiropractic services, if no do you think this influences why people would choose to use chiropractic services?

Answer
Yes, Medicare covers chiropractic. But they limit it extremely, and have odd stipulations, like you must have x-rays, but they won't pay for them. Some of these are changing, though, and in 3 states beginning some time next year, they are doing a trial by covering everything at 100%, to see if covering chiropractic would benefit them financially (as compared to allopathic/medical methods of treatment).

As far as if it influences why people would choose chiropractic...some people, I'm sure, but everyone has their opinion about what they would consider for treatment before they see if their insurance covers it. For instance, even if my insurance would cover back surgery, I wouldn't necessarily take advantage of that coverage....just like someone out there with great chiropractic coverage might not use it because they don't "believe in it." Make sense?
