Answer
Dear Ruthel,

Thank you very much for your question and I hope that I can help.  Unfortunately, it is very difficult for me to attempt to recommend an eating plan to someone who I have not actually seen and consulted with.  Nutrition is very important and can be a very powerful tool to health.

I recommend going to a website that you can learn more about eating whole foods and becoming more whole yourself.  It is www.zoe8.com.  I know the people who run this program personally and have seen some amazing results with health and weight loss as well.  They also have some information your can order to help you down the road your are interested in travelling.

As for the vitamins, again, I prefer to see a patient before recommending products.  However, I do feel that everyone should be taking a good multivitamin and a good EFA product.  EFA (essential fatty acids) are the omega 3,6,9 FA's.  They are very powerful in helping with aspects of health.  Additionally, I like to see patients taking a good digestive enzyme and probiotic for intestinal health if necessary. I recommend consulting with a professional prior to attempting to take a variety of supplements.  With help, you can usually avoid overspending and get the right supplements for you and your boyfriend.

I hope this helps.

Dr. Boss
