Question
i have been under the ipswich hoapital for 9 months now and have had physio x-ray and an MRI scan the x-ray showed a trasitional vertebra in the s1 L5 region and the MRI has shown that my disc is a third of the thickness it should be i have had a spinal block injection which has not worked the next step is to see the surgeon . i was woundering if i should visit the chiroprator before any invasive surgery. would he/she be of any help?

Answer
Jayne,

Thanks for the question.  If this is due to a herniated disc which has kept you with problems for an extended period of time, then you should see a surgeon for evaluation. However,  I would also recommend evaluation with a chiropractor to determine if he can help as well. You can receive treatment from both.  Chiropractic treatment may be able to help and you should explore this option.

I hope this helps,

Dr. Boss
