mid-back discomfort

Question
I injured my back about a month ago during a fall while I was intoxicated.  I hit my spine pretty hard against a table that I fell back onto.  When I woke up the next day I was in a great deal of pain.  The pain seemed to radiate directly from the spine, and it was painful to touch.  Over the next 2 weeks it gradually got better.  Its been a month now and the part of my spine that I hit is still a little sore to the touch, but I now have some muscle soreness and tightness specifically on the left side of my mid-back.  When I am standing or sitting I hardly notice anything, but when I get up or bend or twist a certain way I feel discomfort.  I am an active person, and want to get back to doing my hobbies.  Any ideas about what this could be would be greatly appreciated.

Answer
First, I would like to apologize for the lateness of my reply.  The holiday has me backed up!!!
The beauty of being intoxicated is you go sort of limp, sometimes reducing the amount of injury.  You may want to have it checked by a good chiropractor.  In the process of falling, you probably bruised some muscle, and may have caused misalignment, which combined with the muscle tightness, is a cycle that must be broken.
