Question
Symptoms are pain in right hip, sitting pain in sacrum/coccyx/right side buttock close to centre, legs ache and can only walk for 30 minutes without real bad leg ache. bladder burning pain. wake up every morning with back ache. lifting or riding a bike makes it worse. Any help would be appreciated.

Answer
Maria,

There are several possibilities that come to mind, and depending on your age and medical history, some may be more likely than others.  I don't like that you have bladder symptoms.  If you've had any recent obstetric procedures then there is a chance you can have a "reactive arthritis" to your pubic or sacral bones (Osteitis Pubis; Osteitis Condensans Ilii).  You may simply have a stuck and irritated SI joint (pelvic joint) causing much of your symptoms, but the fact that you are complaining of leg pain makes this less likely.  If you are over 40, then I would more concerned about arthritic changes that are causing narrowing of your spinal canal or nerve canal as a possible cause of leg symptoms.   My suggestion is to get this examined.  You are a good candidate for xrays to survey your back, pelvis or hip, depending on what your examining doctor finds.  The first concern is to rule out bad stuff like tumors, etc., with a thorough examination.

Good luck.
