Question
My wife has recently had a doctor visit and they said that she has a compressed c6-c7 vertabra.
How should she go about getting this back to normal?
We can not afford the physical therapy they suggest would a chiropractor help?

Answer
Hi Eddie,

This sounds like the disc between C6 & 7.  When these compress it is usually due wear and tear.  This is not going to get "back to normal".  What has to be done is to help the body adapt to the situation and function as normally as possible.

This is not as discouraging as you might think.  All of us have some of this degeneration going on.  It is very livable if you take good care of it.

Chiropractic can really shine in this area.  We keep people running for a long time.  Able to do the things they love as well as possible.

If the vertebra itself were compressed, this is a type of fracture and she would be in a very restrictive brace until it healed.  Like other broken bones.  So I doubt that this is what we're talking about.

Bottom line-  the chiropractic consult is a wise idea.

Hope this helps.
