Question
Dear Doctor

I am 42 year old male having OCD since my school days. I would like to find out how much help a chiropractor would do to ease out on OCD. I am from India. Please recommend a good place in India.

Warm regards

Nataraj

Answer
Nataraj,
Since OCD is highly involved with the brain and thoughts and personality, there is a good fit between Chiropractic and OCD.  First of all, please know that a Chiropractor does not treat any disease or condition other than the nervous system interference.
Once nerve interference is located and corrected, then the body can once again regain normal function and get well.
As far as suggesting a Doctor in India, I am unable to that at this time.  Your case would require a specialist, an Upper Cervical Specific Doctor, and I do not know of 1 practicing in India at this point, let alone a superb doctor that I could highly recommend.
If you do indeed want the opportunity to get well and correct your problem, then you would need to come to the states for care.  I would recommend a two week stay and intensive care plan to allow ample time to make a lasting correction.
You can let me know your situation and your level of commitment to getting well.
One suggestion that I have for longdistance patients is to have an MRI of the Cervical Spine completed as well as special Upper Cervical X-Rays.  You can then send them to me for review and I can let you know at that point if I would be able to help you or not.
