Pain and numbness in left arm below elbow

Question
Frequently, I have a feeling in my left arm of numbness, with a feeling of having a cramp in my forearm just blow my elbow.  When this happens, my arm feels useless from the elbow down and I can't move my fingers.  My arm actually feels dead from the elbow down.  this feeling occurs sometimes when I bend my elbow  further than a 90 degree angle.  As like I am trying to look at my elbow.  My arm fees like it is asleep, but has a feeling of a knot or cramp.  Today when it did this, it took about 15 minutes before I could use my arm/hand again.
Could this be related to my neck being out?  Or something worse?
I hope you can help me.  I am 58 years old.

thanks

Kathy S.

Answer
It sure could be coming from a lower neck problem. I would also consider a possible nerve entrapment along the elbow. You can have a nerve conduction test done to check for this. I would see a chiropractor or orthopedic surgeon to take a look at things.
