Question
Dear Doctor,
I am a 52 year old female, mother of six. I have been active all my life, running marathons for years. I have been declining in health for the last two years. I have no feeling in ALL my muscles from my head to my toes, I feel pressure only. I also have pain such as burning and tingling in my arms mostly, the pain feels like a cord wrapped around my wrists at times. Physically I look different as well, I normally am very muscular (genetic) and from running, I have turned to mush, I still run, although it's a lot harder now. I have been to neuoligist, my father past away from ALS and I also have muscle fascilations. I do have issues with my neck and was told it would not cause all of these symptoms. Please help!!!!   Thank you so much!!!

Answer
Dear Carey,

With your past history, you need to pursue the neurologist pathway until he/she exhausts all diagnostic tests. It is not normal to have "no feeling in all your muscles".

You also need to consult with a good internest, MD, to rule out other pathologies/diseases.  Your symptoms don't sound like typical chiropracticly-treated symptoms.  Make sure that you are generally healthy.

Sometimes patients suffer from discomfort that is NOT diagnosible, (fibromyalgia is one example), but until all possibilities are ruled out, you will not find peace of mind.

Good luck. I hope that you can find a answer for your symptoms.
