Question
I have a serious disc degeneration at L5.   It has been recommended to either get disc fused or let disc naturally fuse itself overtime.  My question is if disc fuses naturally over time can the disc be separated if other advancements are made for artificial disc?

Answer
Currently there are surgeries that replace the disc with a fake or titanium disc. It is not recommended for all degenerative disc cases. I would re direct your question to a spinal surgeon , not a chiropractor.
That being said, if you have severe pain and nothing else has helped (ie:physical therapy, chiropractic, cold laser, traction, etc..) then surgery may be the only option.
