Question
hi about 3-4 years ago i was playing football with a hard pumped ball, as i hit the ball on the volley, a sharp pain went through my ankle as though it had broken, i could barley move let alone walk however at home i tied a bandage around my ankle thinking that it would help, now during those years i have been having constant pain in the ankle at times it can be very bad at other times it can be quite mild. I went to the hospital to see what can be done about it and i was advised to carry out stretches and exercise on the ankle area however it is still in pain and i seriously don't know what has happened to it and how to heal it fully anymore could you please tell me what has happened to it if you know and also if you have any ideas on how to heal back properly. Thank you

Answer
Hi Mike,

I have the answer for you, the body never forgets an injury so since yours you have developed osteoarthritis in it (OA). The good news is that it is treatable and often reversible with glucosamine sulfate with MSM. You need to take 3000mg/day for it to work, that is the therapeutic dose according to all the studies. As long as it isn't bone on bone it should be good as new in 3-4 months. Having therapeutic ultrasound on it 3X/week will speed up absorption and cut healing time in half. Chiropractors have this in most offices. Treatments last 5 minutes, get it x-rayed to confirm the diagnosis. Being that you have a history of trauma to the joint, I am 90% sure that is what it is.
Please don't hesitate to ask if you have anymore questions!

Good Luck!
