Early carpal tunnel?
9/23 17:11:03

Question
I am 25 almost 26, and I currently work in and around computers. A lot of my work requires lots of punching down and wire stripping, etc.

For the past two weeks, the heel/palm of my hand has been hurting, especially when my hand is turned up (as in the push up position). Recently the pain has started reaching up to my middle knuckle and finger.

A friend mentioned that this might be early signs of carpal tunnel.

Am I too young to be having carpal tunnel and if not is there a way to counter-act this as much of my work depends on my hands...

Answer
Jack, your friend is correct, you need CTS splints that fill with air, not cock up wrist splints, Cold laser also does wonders for this by eliminating inflammation and breaking up scar tissue. Use ice on the area of the wrist where you check the pulse in the middle. This is where the median nerve gets trapped under the transverse ligament. It needs rest, the air braces do that while enabling work.
