Back Pain Exercises: Relief For A Longer Period

Dorsalgia, the medical terminology for back pain is referred to pain that originates from the muscles, nerves, bones, joints or other structures in the spine. Depending on the area affected, it may be classified as neck pain, upper back pain, lower back pain or tailbone pain. Back pain is one of the most common complaints among human beings and may arise as a sudden onset, be chronic in nature or localized to point or area or spread to wider areas of the back.

Back pain relief treatment aims to bring in reduction to the intensity of the pain as fast as possible and to help curtail it from radiating to the nearby areas. In case of sever pain, the treatment generally focuses to provide the patient with a physical condition to continue with everyday activities and overcome the socio-economic impediments to recovery. Exercise is an effective approach for back pain relief but it needs to done under at the supervision of a professional trainer. Simple stretching exercise also helps to loosen the stiffness of the back muscles. These can be done in smaller doses, with fewer repetitions and slower process, which can be increased gradually as the back condition improves.

Back pain relief products are also available which will enhance the back pain exercise experience. Simple exercises, which can help one get relief from back pain, include Vertical arcs, Horizontal arcs, Arm circles and Mini Crunches.. Other effective back pain exercises, which can be performed, are:

  • Pelvic Tilt: This requires the individual to lie on flat on the floor on his/her back with knees bend. This is followed by tightening of the abdomen muscles and pulling the down the lower back. An excellent exercise for low back pain.

  • Bridge Exercise: As a continuation from the pelvic tilt, this exercise is performed by gradually lifting ones hips from the floor, while contracting the buttocks and hamstrings.

  • Low Impact Aerobics: the low impact aerobics strengthens the back muscles without stress and is an excellent method for improvement of back conditions.

Care should be taken to perform the exercises as a low intensity ones, which can definitely be increased as ones back condition, improves. Continuation of such simple exercise will relieve one from the back pain for a longer.
