Question
I have been having pain in one knee for about two months with the pain increasing in the past month. I am overweight. The pain gets worse throughout the day after I have been on it for a long time and sometimes feels like its going to collaspe from under me. Today I was on my feet most of the day and tonight I noticed it swelling more than usual. The swelling went down to about three inches below my knee and my other knee which has been fine swelled a little also but only a few inches below the knee. What does this mean? Why are both legs having swelling when only my knee has been sore? Thanks..

Answer
its important that you lose weight. you are utting a lot of added stress on those joints. i would also have the arches in your feet checked. you may need custom arch support (orthotics) this can sometimes help. your swelling is due to either arthritis or poor circulation (also a weight problem)
