Question
A year and 5 months ago, a drunk driver hit me on my driver's side. For 6 long months, I saw a chiropractor and medical doctor for my thoracic pain between my shoulder blades. Nothing they did made the pain go away. I had pain like crazy, but they could not figure out what was wrong. I had an x-ray done, and nothing showed up. I had an MRI done, and it came back negative. I just gave up, and just had to deal with the pain. A year and 5 months later, I'm still in some crazy pain. When my chiropractor presses down on that thoracic area of my spine, the pain is just too much. What makes it even worse is sitting down and standing up for a while. Working is just so miserable. I just want to know what it could be and what to do about it?

Hello, Terry,

It's not that nothing showed up on your MRI; it's that the radiologist doesn't know how to recognize the neuromuscular reflexive action triggered by incidents such as you one you experienced.

It's called, Trauma Reflex and it involves muscles getting so tight that they cause pain and restrictions to movement.  Trauma Reflex may persist indefinitely, unless addressed properly, and disappears quickly when addressed properly.
