Question
I struck the side of my thigh on the corner of my desk as I was going around the desk.  It was very painful at the time, then eased some. I went to ER about 6 hours later.  They just gave naproxen and ice and heat. 5 days later, I can hardly walk.  I went back to dr. He said he would not touch the leg because I have a knee replacement.
what should I do?

Answer
Dear Linda,

Thank you for your question.  While medical diagnosis is not part of the practice of non-therapeutic straight chiropractic, let me simply say that diagnosis is a tricky matter, at best, even when done properly and under ideal circumstances.  I'm not saying the opinion you have gotten already is the best or only opinion available or that it is necessarily correct, however, a diagnosis by correspondence by someone who has never met you seems the poorer choice.  Anyone who is willing to make such a conclusion for you that way is offering something of a guess.  It is no substitute for an in-person, expert evaluation.

Linda, I wish you the best.

Sincerely,
James W. Healey, DC
