Question
hi doc:),..I work as a mental health tech.,  and approx. 2 weeks ago,  had to reach with my right hand (bad weight point of wrist) to stop a patient from falling.  I felt a sting in my wright wrist,  but the rest of the day no problems.  the next day  beginning from the back under my shoulder blade and under my right arm,  was painful.  no problems  cause that  goes with the job,..however,  then my right hand started tingling as when one falls asleep and a limb goes to sleep.  the next day after that my wrist and 2 smaller fingers became numb.  now the numbness is subsiding,  and the feeling is returning somewhat but i don't haVE any strength in my right hand:( i never had any swelling at all... will this pass,  or what are your thoughts.  thanx for taking the time to help:)  ron

Answer
it sounds as if you strained your shoulder and irritated the ulnar nerve ("funny bone" nerve)in the process.if this is the extent of it, your symptoms will likely resolve on their own soon. if, however, you have cord level interference, this may limit your recovery. i would seek an evaluation from an HIO METHOD chiropractor. i would accept no substitutes.
