Question
hello , id like to know if its safe? im a medical doctor myself who suffers a back problem, most probably herniated disc,,, im considering chiropractic consultation, because most orthopedics surgeons are invasive. id like to know if its safe , specially all the twisting of necks e.t.c   thanks.

Answer
dr,

Thanks for the question.

I too am dealing with a L5-S1 disc herniation at this time.  To answer your question, yes, it is safe when performed properly.   It is also very effective in such a case.  I have treated many HNPs over 14 years.  I have also had many not fully respond and I have referred them for surgery.

I would recommend a consult and 8-20 treatments.  If after 8 treatments, you have seen no improvement at all, then I would say that your disc is severe enough to require surgery.  I have also had patient's who responded very well initially only to have a recurrence and require surgical intervention.

Another point on safety,  chiropractic malpractice insurance is the least expensive of all healthcare providers.  That is not a coincidence.  It is because they have the least number of claims.  If that doesn't prove some safety, I don't know what does.

If you have any other questions, please let me know.

God Bless,

Dr. Boss
