Question
Hello you have been very helpful on my answer before I have bulging disc in my spine it burns I was wonder is that common is that nerve damage or nerve pain And with my job i have to bend stretch and i sit alot i havent had this pain before off and on And effect my sleepWhat can i do about it Is it dangerous Thanks Carolyn

Answer
Carolyn,

Burning pain can be muscle-fatigue ("the burn"); if nerve pain, it appears at a distance from the nerve impingement and isn't helped or felt to be reachable or "affectable" by touching the burning part.

Nerve impingement is usually a sign of contracted muscles, as is a bulging disc.  In the long-term, that condition can lead to substantial problems.  Best to handle it sooner than later.

May I direct you to my brief pieces on back pain at somatics.com/page4b.htm for what to do.

with regard,
Lawrence Gold
