Question
This is my MRI report.I am in acute pain for past 2 weeks.This pain is intermittent for last 15 years.My age is 30 years now.What should i do?

                                                            MRI LUMBAR SPINE

T1,T2 杝agittal and axial sections of the lumbar spine were studied
Posterior disc prolapsed seen at L4-L5 and L5-S1 levels causing anterior indentation of the theca
Rest of the lumbar invertebral discs show normal morphology and signal intensity
Small haemangioma seen involving the left pedicle of L5
Rest of the lumbar vertebral bodies,pedicles,laminae and spinous processes shows normal morphology and alignment
Mild thickening of ligamentum flavum noted at L4-L5 and L5-S1 levels
The conus medullaris and nerve roots of the cauda equine show normal morphology
The CSF in the subarachnoid space shows normal signal intensity
There is no abnormality of the pre or paravertebral soft tissue

Impression:
Posterior disc prolapsed at L4-L5  and L5-S1 causing anterior indentation of the theca
Mild thickening of ligamentum flavum at L4-L5 and L5-S1 levels  

Answer
Posterior disc prolapsed at L4-L5  and L5-S1
This tells me that your lumbar spine has some degenerative changes, mostly in the disc.
