The trick to curing joint pain is partially to prevent it from happening in the first place. Joint pain that is found in the knees, back, shoulders, and arms are best dealt with by taking care of these joints in the first place and slowing down the onset of joint pain. In fact, one of the ways to deal with knee pain is through many of these preventative methods, especially if your joint pain stems from exercise related injuries, not from simple wear and tear of age.

Stretching

Stretching should always be done before any exercising and there?s a good reason for it: it warms up your muscles before doing strenuous activity so that you don?t get injured so readily. Stretching can also help joint pain, especially in the knees and shoulders because you are improving blood flow to the affected areas. It also relieves tension and strain over time which helps joint pain. Stretching should be done before and after any exercises, both to prevent joint pain and to help deal with it after the fact.

Diet

What you eat has an impact on how you feel! If you want to prevent joint pain, make sure to stick to a diet that is high in lean protein, vitamins, minerals, and whole grains so that you have energy to get through your day and you?re not packing on the pounds and thus adding more strain to your limbs. If you are using diet as a way to fix joint pain, then ease off the saturated and trans fats and add more Omega-3 fatty acids and lean protein to your diet to strengthen your muscles and take the pounds off. You should also drink plenty of water.

Swimming/Pilates

Gentle exercises for joint pain are a great way to relieve it and prevent it from happening in the first place. Swimming is often the first exercise given to anyone in need of joint pain relief or exercising because it is easy on the joints while still being good for your body; the weightlessness effect from the water makes it easier for those with damaged joints to do.

Pilates is one of the other common exercises given to those who need joint pain relief; again, because the stretches helps blood circulation and relieves joint pain and stress. It?s good for joint pain because you are able to concentrate your efforts on your joint and thus help them feel better.

Prevention of joint pain is one part of the battle; you have to take care of your body if you want it to last a long time. Even when you are looking for joint pain relief, many of the things you do to prevent it will also relieve it after the fact, so it is all worth doing.
