In the US, lots of people suffer from acute back pain. You won't find many people who tell you that they have not felt the dreaded lower back pain ever. There are many causes for back pain. Sitting, standing and shoulder postures contribute to back pain. Most often, you experience pain only when your sitting posture is improper and the back gets strained. This is also true if your standing postures are not proper.

Children are also getting affected by this condition as they sit in front of computers for long time playing games. Today people prefer jobs which requires sitting in front of computer for long as such jobs are paid well. If they don't give importance to shoulder posture then they will have more tendencies to suffer from back pain.

Slipped disc are one of the several causes for back pain. Present between the vertebrae, these discs are plate like structures. These gives support to the vertebrae. When such discs slip then people suffer from severe pain. There is a prolonged treatment for this. People suffering from slipped disc must take bed rest.

This will slowly help the discs to get back to their location. When you sit for a long time, make sure to keep your back straight. Also keep changing the position every one hour and it is advisable to go for a walk in rest periods. You should not keep your shoulder round over for a long time. This will exert pressure on the lower back and results in lower back pain.

An injury or accident can also cause severe back pain. If you lift something heavy and strain your back in the process, you may suffer from back pain for a very long time. Lower back pain must be treated in the early stages. The best natural remedy is to keep ice on the painful portion.

If this does not work then you can go for heat treatment. NSAID therapy is an alternative remedy to natural method. It is a non steroidal anti inflammatory drug. It's helpful in reducing the swelling that is caused when you suffer an injury or an accident. You must take the drugs as the physician directs.
