Usually, you do two things when experiencing back pain. They just ignore it hoping it may get fine by itself or they may take generally used pain killers. Drugs can provide immediate relief to the back pain but does not last for long. Drugs are short-term aid and can easily affect your life on the bigger scale. These can be taken along with NSAID's. NSAID's can be a bit harsh on the stomach and hence they must be taken with milk and other liquid food that will help line the wall of stomach. First check your condition with a GP if you ever had ulcers and internal bleeding in the stomach. Another approach for back pain relief is a natural herb called Boswellia. Use of this will avoid any type of side effects to the stomach.

Muscle relaxant is also a class of drug that helps in back pain relief. We mostly use these in case of strains and sprains. This helps to loosen the muscles and relieve the pain. Some of the brands are Valium, Flexeril, Soma, Robaxin and Diazepam. You can also get rid of the pain immediately by taking ice treatment.

But this provides you just temporary relief. By pressing the ice cubes on the affected part you can get rid of the pain. You should go for heat treatments if the pain doesn't subside with ice treatment. This will reduce the inflammations and will relax the muscles. This is accomplished by holding hot water bag and pressing it at the affected area.
