Home Remedies For Back Pain Or Backache

Backache, also known as back pain, or dorsopathy, is a nonspecific term used to describe discomfort or a pain in the region of the back or spine. It is one of the most common complain among humans.

About 80% of adults suffer from back pain at some time in their lives, Backaches are categorized as acute and chronic, acute pain is cause by movement or excessive use of the back which can injure the muscles, ligaments, bones, tendons. There are some powerful home remedies for back pain that we will share with you.

Soak 60 grams of wheat in water at night. In the morning along with the wheat add 30 grams Cuscus grass (khas khas grass) and 30 grams coriander. Mix this to make a paste and boil it in 250 grams of milk till two-third of it is left. It helps in relieving pain and increases the digestive strength of the body.

Another home remedy for a minor back ache is heat therapy. Back ache suffers can spend time in a heated bathtub or jacuzzi to allow strained back muscles to loosen and relax. This application of heat can also be effective for back ache due to weight training or other physical activities. An alternative to water therapy may be an electric heating pad placed on the affected area of the back. Even an application of heat-generating sport or analgesic cream can be beneficial for a minor to moderate back ache.

Limejuice serves as an excellent home remedy for backache. Squeeze the juice of 1 lemon and add common salt in it. Drink it two times in a day. It will act as a great back pain reliever.

Applying garlic oil on the back provides an immense relief from back pain. Take 10 small garlic pieces and fry them in oil on a low flame. Use sesame oil, coconut oil or mustard oil and fry till the garlic cloves turn light brown. Allow the oil prepared from garlic cool completely. Thereafter apply it on the back and keep it for about three hours. Within a few days you’ll feel its magical effects.

Do regular stretching: Stretching the body at regular intervals is as important as a nutritious diet. Stretching the body makes it flexible and empowers it with a self-defending mechanism making it strong for any external sprain. Therefore, we must intercept work with frequent stretching modules that will help relax the back muscles making them less prone to pain.

You can take non-prescription drugs like aspirin can prove helpful in the initial stages of the back pain. Applying an ice pack over the area that is hurting is another way for relieving one self. If the pain persists for more than four or five days, one must try out using heated pads over the affected area.

You can obtain pain relief by making a massage oil containing four drops each of peppermint, rosemary, and lavender and ounce of safflower oil. Rubbing the oil into your back will help reduce the pain you feel. The oils will also act as anti-inflammatory agents and aid in reducing muscle spasms. Inhaling the aroma of these oils also helps reduce stress and anxiety, which in turn helps lower the amount of pain you feel as stress tends to make pain worse.
