In many instances the cell injury might persist for longer duration of time and ultimately cause the discomfort later on. Essentially collarbone or clavicle is an S shaped tubular bone present between the shoulder and the breastbone. Essentially at the medial end it causes the connection between the sternum and the shoulder blade. It is the longest horizontally positioned bone in the physique.

There are numerous basic causes of collar bone discomfort. One of the most common causes is the bone fracture. The bone fracture may be due to some common sports football, baseball, cricket, wrestling and most famous among all is the rugby. In these instances the collarbone pain is due to direct impaction of force on collarbone. The fracture in the collarbone may start from the collarbone and can move down to shoulder, and ultimately from elbow to hand. If the muscle pressure persists for longer duration of time it may cause severe discomfort and may also dislocate the fractured joint and if this condition persists for longer duration of joint it might completely jam the joint and can cause further complication.

The reason may be the direct hit in any of the front body parts like chest, shoulder or fall that might cause injury or direct hit. The sternoclavicular joint dislocation is also a cause of collarbone pain basically it happens when the medial end of collarbone is pushed at the chest side. If the severe trauma occurs it may damage the trachea, esophagus, big blood vessels and the thoracic duct. The third degree injury may also occur when each ligament and dislocation of collarbone from chest may occur. In numerous instances the distal clavicle bone of osteolysis can also cause pain. In these instances the swelling and stiffness might happen. The pain may elevate on lifting any object bench press and other forms of heavy weigh lifting. In many cases the decreased level of calcium also increases the danger of osteolysis.
