In some cases, the severe compression of the nerves in the leg due to accidents and serious injuries also cause it. Foot pain after running and doing intensive sport activities such as gymnastics and athletics can be the result of the different types of fractures in the leg. Stress fractures and the march fractures are the fracture types can also cause the pain. While the stress fractures are believed to occur, due to the excessive stress and strain experienced by the muscles and the bones in the lower part of the leg, the march fractures are the results of a rise in the physical activity in a very sudden and improper way. The place of the march fractures is actually in the metatarsal bones of the feet.

Wearing improper footwear causes irritation and discomfort in the tendon which has its place at the bottom of the cuboid bone. To avoid it, it is very essential that you do not overuse the high heels, though they are fashionable and trendy. You should always wear that kind of footwear which provides the necessary support to your feet.

Here are some more causes, which are equally responsible to cause this problem as the other causes:
  • Neuroma, which is a condition in which there is a tumor on the nerve.
  • Ganglions, which are a result of the leaking of the capsule joint also cause pain.
  • Bunions, which are actually bumps located behind the toe.
  • Fissures, which are governed by cuts in the region of the heels too lead to foot pain.
To prevent this agonizing pain, you need to use the right kind of footwear by consulting your doctor. Your doctor may suggest physical therapy or even surgery in some cases.
