Lower back pain relief is a simple process, yet too many people make these mistakes. The problem is a mistake can cost you time and pain. Are you making mistakes, do you know what to look for?

Do you want to be able to relieve lower back pain quickly? Would you like to enjoy a life free of pain? If so then you need to avoid these mistakes at all costs.

When you try to ease your low back pain, you will normally target your muscles and may add in a few anti-inflammatory measures. It doesn't matter if you medicate or use natural pain relief, symptom elimination is your first goal. After all who wants to be in pain?

Your back pain decreases from the pills or potions, and you decide to target those muscles that have been tight for weeks, months or longer. You hop onto the internet and find some stretches that say will help. And ...

Enormous blunder!!

Why?

Too many people start stretching without knowing what they need to stretch. The first step is always assessing where your problems are. You must know which muscles are tight, which joints are not moving correctly and then you can target the causes of your back pain. You have to crawl before you can walk, knowing where your back pain comes from is always the first step.

Once you work this out, stretching is next. But ...

Like I said. Enormous blunder!

Did you know the biggest blunder in low back pain relief is stretching incorrectly? Sure you need to know what to stretch, but more importantly you should know how to stretch.

What you need to know is this: stretch only to the point of a "pulling" sensation and not pain. Only use effective stretches, those that create a rebound relaxation of the muscle. Then the muscle will relax more and for longer. Make sure you are positioned right - if do not have the right position you can actually traumatize the muscle, leading to it becoming even tighter.

The mistakes people make with stretching can actually slow your progress, when you try to relieve lower back pain. These mistakes are easy to avoid if you get the right advice.

Stretching is used to relax muscles, to help ease your lower back pain and as part of an overall approach to back pain relief. You need to use it wisely as doing stretches wrong can do more harm than good.

Stretching is an integral part of any lower back pain relief regime. However it will only benefit if done correctly. Just make sure you stretch well.
