Relationship Between Neck Pain And Diet

Most of their question will be related to health, while researching their questions I will come across many valuable information that will help in the treatment. Many of my clients question will push me to make a research.

One recent question posed by a client is whether or not diet is a factor in either causing or preventing neck pain. At first blush, I imagine a man eating a Big Mac and then five minutes later, he's being put in a C-Collar due to his neck pain. Of course, this is an exaggerated thought but one may pose the question - how could food cause or prevent neck injury?

Let's consider what makes up the neck. There are seven bones, or vertebrae that are separated by disks. These disks provide a shock-absorbing cushion effect. In order to properly support the neck, the vertebrae rely on a system of interconnected muscles, nerves and tendons.

No medicine or food can free a person from neck pain. The reason behind neck pain is believed as injury, stress, and age.

A good balanced diet will supply the essential substance needed to develop the strength of the bones and nervous system of the body.

Foods containing Omega-3 fatty acids (those which can be found in certain fish such as salmon, sardines and mackerel, fish oil supplements, certain seeds, nuts and leafy green vegetables) help to lower inflammatory chemicals which can cause neck pain. Getting enough fiber and antioxidants are also ways to decrease inflammation.

Another way to help prevent neck pain is to keep bones healthy by getting enough vitamin D and calcium. These can be found in many foods. Be careful about taking supplements as these are not water soluble and can build up and cause damage if you take too much.

Magnesium is necessary for the tightening and loosening of neck muscles. It is found abundant in fruits, nuts, vegetables, soybeans, whole grains and legumes.

Consumption of more water helps in neck health. Due to loss of water the unevenness of ion will lead to weakening our nerves and muscles.

Overtaking full of fat and flesh will increase heat in our body. Consumption of alcohol will lower the magnesium content. Smoking also weakens the bones. Some foods can stop neck pain and some can cause it too.

I also recommend my Neck Pain program. It's all natural exercises help promote neck health and help prevent neck pain!
