Overview of the Neck Pain Yonkers Diagnosis

Neck pain could cause due to various problems it should be treated effectively by consulting a doctor.

Some of the injuries that occur in sport, such as slight cuts or bruises, Neck Pain Yonkers are relatively minor and can be dealt with by the individual him/herself or at least with basic first aid procedures that do not require any specialist knowledge. Conversely other injuries, such as those to the neck, spine and eyes, may be so severe that they require expertise in a specialist field of medical care, rather than that of the practitioner working in the general field of sports injuries. Fortunately these injuries are relatively rare and although the sports injury practitioner may encounter them from time to time they will usually be concerned with the kind of sports injuries that are not life- threatening or likely to result in permanent disability. Ironically, most of the time when something is wrong with the neck, pain is felt in another part of the body. Headache, shoulder pain, and dizziness are probably the most common symptoms that make a diagnosis; however, much work in tracing the route of neck-caused pain has been done in recent years, and the road map can easily be read by physicians once the proper clues have been given.

Pain that starts in the superficial structures of the neck, the skin or muscle, is most often associated with local soreness directly at the site. Pain, which emanates from the deeper structures, the bone, nerves, or deep-lying blood vessels, is usually felt- over a wider area, often without a specific identifiable point of pain. By listening to the history of pain and knowing just where it hurts, a physician has a good clue about the cause of the trouble, even if that cause is far removed from the actual trouble spot. For instance, a pain in the sixth neck bone (cervical vertebra, C6) can cause pain in the shoulder, arm, or hand.

The causes of neck, arm, shoulder, and hand pain emanating from the neck may be injury, disease or just the vulnerability of our necks as we go about our days and sleep in our beds at night. Diagnosis of the source of such Neck Pain Yonkers is made by a careful history, X-rays, electrical tests, imaging tests, and physical examination. While almost everyone suffers from neck- related pain sometime or other and such pain can range from mild to excruciating, fortunately there is much that can be done by physicians and a considerable amount that can be done by patient to prevent these problems.
