Knee Exercises to Strengthen your Knees

Many knee exercises help in reducing knee pain and helps in avoiding any further injuries. Knee pain is one of the most common problems, if you play any athletic sport or perform any heavy weight lifting then there are more chances of you getting your knee injured. You can try different types of knee exercises to lower your knee pain. Always perform some warm up exercises before playing any sport or starting weight lifting in gym.

Three Types of Knee Injury Exercises
* Wall Side: It is a knee strengthening exercise and you can perform this exercise at your home.
o How to Do: First lean towards the wall, and then bend your knees a little. Slowly slide down and then straighten up again. Make sure that while going down your knees should be parallel and do not allow your knees to go out over the toes. You can use your hand to give support to your body by leaning them on the wall too. It is the simplest of knee injury exercise that you can perform to strengthen your knee muscles.
* Hip Abduction: You can try knee exercises for torn meniscus to regain knee strength back, but be careful to perform these exercises when you have no pain in knees.
o How to Do: Stand on your uninjured leg and raise your injured leg out to the side. Now slowly bring back the leg to the centre. Make sure to hold on to something to maintain your balance.
* Knee Bending: Doctors consults these types of knee exercises after surgery. You can perform this knee bending exercise at your home.
o How to Do: Sit on chair, which is stable, and bend your leg so it is underneath the seat. Bend your knees back as far as possible, hold the position for 4 to 5 seconds and then bring your knees back to normal position.
These types of knee exercises help you regain your knee strength and lower knee pain by relaxing knee muscles. Always consult a doctor for what exercises needed to perform for different injuries.
