Change And Relief From Joint Pain

Relief from Joint Pain; it can be a reality for many people who suffer from joints that hurt and ache on a daily basis.

Joints hurt for a wide variety of reasons that include injury, degradation, trauma, autoimmune conditions, and a host of other causes. What is interesting is that joints respond best to change. The topic of this blog explains how change can have both physical and emotional possibilities for healing.

CHANGE, as we end 2012 and begin a new year, lets take a moment to embrace change. It happens to all of us with or without our permission. Let us take the approach that CHANGE allows for things to be different or new again. Our perception of change is the largest part of changing anything; how we feel about it. Because we have choice, we can choose to embrace being open to new things, new places, and new possibilities. Understanding the range of possibilities is only limited to your power of belief. For those who suffer joint pain, acute or chronic, we all know that is undermines your thoughts, energy levels, relationships, and makes for great frustrations. If you have a Spa or Swim Pool, let's look at what can be done to assist you with the joint pain. Your Spa will be of great benefit if it is set between 36 degrees to 40 degrees Celsius. Bring a smaller tub of chilled water with a few ice cubes floating in the water (to help keep it cool), and set it on the corner of your Spa or Swim Pool. For the affected joint, let us say and elbow or wrist, place the joint in the chilled water for (1) one minute and then for 3-5 minutes back into the spa (preferably in front of a jet). Then rotate back and forth from hot and cold for 30-45 minutes. The contrasting water temperature can bring incredible pain relief to a sore or painful joint. If it is a knee, lower leg, or an ankle you can use a 5-gallon bucket (20 liters) filled with the cold water for alternating dunking. A change in water temperature by one degree can change blood flow up to 10% over a very short time. This alternating temperature change can increase blood flow, soothe muscles & tendons, and help to improve joint mobility and function. This principle known as "Hydrotherapy" is the use of water and temperature to bring about physiological change in the human body for healing purposes. For more chronic or injured joints, the best results are found by doing this daily until the joints begin to feel better. The daily routine can be amazingly helpful for even the worst of joints.

CHANGE can benefit us the most when we envision that the change we are sensing or experiencing is going to give us or teach us something we have not had previously. This forethought is essential to making the most out of change. To choose how you feel after the change has occurred limits the response to only what has happened, rather than what you can participate in making happen. YOU MATTER, YOU COUNT, YOU ARE NOT INVISIBLE, and YOU GUIDE YOUR FUTURE. Try being an agent of change for others, and not just yourself. Try doing two things a day, everyday, for someone else that eases their burden or assists them in some way big or small. Holding a door, giving someone a smile as you walk by, or helping to impact someone's life to be more productive. This is not limited to age, a small child can help carry something or help a fellow student to perform a task they need help with, and everyone can participate in this concept. The thought is to be thinking about others everyday. This LONG TERM thinking helps to ease the pressure of someone else's burden. When we can escape ourselves long enough to help others, we realize that we truly have prosperity and plenty to share with others. Joint pain is about a stuck body part, needing assistance, which is not working, as we would like it to work. By helping others to effect positive change in their lives, yours will be better for your efforts. Think of the bigger scale of things, with about 4 Billion people on the Earth, if everyone helped with two others things everyday, we would have 8 billion assisting factors that could quickly change our planet for the better. Making our lives more meaningful, and the world a better place. Please pass this message on to your friends and family, and together we can be agents of CHANGE for a better future for all.
