Degenerative Disc Disease- Pain is usually felt when moving a certain way or being in a specific position. Can be extremely painful and may become chronic. Stress Fracture- This pain usually onset with walking or standing and can be very painful. Information regarding the elderly Osteoarthritis is a a health condition that can cause back pain, leading to a stiff back and is more pronounced in the morning or evening.

Pain in the legs is caused by another back pain problem specific to the elderly known as lumber spinal stenosis. The pain is caused by putting pressure on the spinal nerves. De generative disc disease is a major cause of low back pain.

Muscles around and supporting the discs go into a spasm causing chronic back pain. Mechanical pain is common because the disc that is degenerating is becoming inflamed. By replacing the bad disc with an artificial one you help relieve the pain associated with degenerative disc disease.
