Temporary back pain relief is great, as long as you still try to remove all the causes of your pain. If you don't, your back pain will return again and become worse.

The following is a simple way you can relieve back pain quickly. It is a good way to get temporary back pain relief.

If you are unsure of the causes of your back pain then I'll explain. There are three main physical causes. Yes there are also stress, health and fitness causes also. But more on that in another article.

The physical causes are simple, there are muscles and joints.

Muscles can be tight, and other muscles can be weak. This covers two of the three physical causes. However, weak muscles are not just related to strength, you also need to be aware of the nerve and blood supply to the muscles. If the supply is poor, then exercise will not strengthen your muscles.

The third area is your joints. Joints need to move freely and be in balance. Balance relates to your overall general posture which is affected by your pelvis and feet.

But first you would like to have back pain relief now.

Muscles that are tight are the cause of almost 75% of your pain. It is these tight knotted fibers that can actually cause most of your pain. You can actually release these fibers and relieve back pain quickly.

All you need to do is find the tight knots and then place firm pressure on these areas. Hold the pressure for a few seconds and then take a deep breath in and out. Try to relax as you breathe out and the tension in the muscle will reduce.

You can repeat this a few times on each knot and you will find the pain and size of the lump will decrease.

You may find numerous areas in your muscles that have these tight knotted fibers. You need to check each muscle in the area of pain and also other muscles as these fibers (trigger points) can refer pain also.

Once you release all the trigger points, going for a gentle walk or a nice hot bath to increase the blood flow to the area will also help.

Releasing tension in your muscles will help you to relieve back pain. It is temporary relief only and if you want long term back pain relief you need to address all the causes. If not then pain will return and get worse as you age.
