There are many options for getting rid of back pain and they form part of a multibillion dollar industry, while many people spend money on prescription medication for short term use; others will spend many thousands of dollars seeking all kinds of treatments from a variety of different health practitioners.

Lack of exercise and a sedentary lifestyle are a leading cause of chronic back pain and many sufferers will be guilty of just this. More than 100 million Americans currently suffer with chronic back pain and the problem has now reached epidemic proportions contributing to lost productivity and efficiencies across the corporate sector.

It is not unusual for us to sit for long periods of time during the day, whether it is in the car stuck in traffic on our way to and from work, sitting at the desk if we work in an office or spend time at our computers, or just relaxing at home watching TV at the end of a hard day at the office and a long drive home!

Back pain comes in several forms and whether you suffer from lower, middle or upper back pain it can be quite debilitating. Lifestyles suffer dramatically and even the most minor tasks like getting out of bed in the morning or lifing even a suitcase can be extremely difficult. Getting rid of back pain is paramount.

What a lot us don't realise is, just how bad sitting all day can be for our back. A seated posture can create an imbalance in the spine, causing our back to age prematurely. It is no surprise that in such an advanced technological age we are sitting for longer periods of time and our back problems have become our Achilles' heel which has resulted in a loss of flexibility, function and mobility.

It is really essential that we adopt strategies for increasing our back health and getting rid of back pain; various strategies applied regularly will result in an overall improvement in our function, flexibility and mobility.

If you want to bring about change to help the development and endurance of your back you need to focus your training on specific muscles groups. Good posture whether sitting or standing will also play a large role in maintaining the overall health of your back.

Obesity is a major cause of chronic back pain linked to poor eating habits, limited exercise and genetic make-up, so it is very important to have a healthy diet and regular exercise.

Stress in our lives is something that we should try to reduce; it can have a direct effect on our bodies and can result in pain, fatigue and discomfort. It is well documented that having a lot of stress in our lives is one of the main causes of back pain, so by finding ways to deal with the stress it will have a direct result in getting rid of our back pain.

When we are stressed our muscles tense, when this happens our blood flow is restricted and the body sends a signal telling us that it is in pain. It is extremely important to control or reduce your stress; make sure you have ample sleep and try doing the things that you love, and I mean really LOVE; this will help you to relax!.

If we focus on doing the things that we love how will we feel stressed?
