The pain in the lower back refers to pain in the lumbosacral region of the spine, which is one of the most common medical conditions. This medical condition is responsible for disability resulting in significant loss of man-hours due to the uncomfortable level of pains that it causes. It has been seen that acute low back pain symptoms resolve within a few weeks but there are some serious cases where the lower back pain may recur at intervals after an acute resolution. Hence the chronic lower back pain can occur and persist over a longer period of time.

This pain can make matters worse for the person suffering from it as they are deprived of lot activities, which they perform during the normal course of their lives. It has been seen that the causes of the lower back pain vary and hence their treatments are also different. The most causes of lower back pain are muscle strain, ligament sprain and soft tissue injuries, which are all commonly occurring forms. These are factors that occur due to overuse of the back or over stretching or twisting and chronic improper posture.

Along with these factors the falls and road traffic accidents cause back injury of varying severity. There is a term known as Herniated disc, which leads to nerve compression and has been associated with 'sciatica' or a kind of radiating pain. It has been seen that sudden heavy pressure on the lower back can be encountered while handling heavy machinery work or even ragged forms of sports which leads to this slipped disc condition. Also osteoarthritis, which is an age related disorder and occurs mostly in older people, could be the cause of a degenerative joint disease.

Spinal Stenosis, which is defined as the narrowing of the spinal canal can develop with age and thus cause back pain. It should be remembered that osteoporosis has been commonly seen in post menopausal women and is also known as the cause of compression fractures. These fractures usually occur even on application of slight or small amount of force on the spine and hence are very risky. These are known as some of the major causes of low back pain among the several conditions that can lead to back pain

Researches and studies have proven that there are various reasons for having back pain on the lower left back this form of pain can be caused due to kidney problems. Basically these forms of back pain can have similar symptoms like the back pain symptoms but these are caused by a kidney infection. Thus if the lower back pain is caused by a kidney problem then immediate internal treatment is required.

The kidneys are located to the left and right side of the spine directly above your hips and hence any problem here can also lead to pain in the back. It should be kept in mind that the pain from a kidney infection usually occurs near this same general area and may spread outwards and complicate the diagnosis. Exercise, medication and physiotherapy are some of the best ways to get rid of the pain.
