Causes Of Hip And Lower Back Pain

There are different causes for pain in the lower back and the hips. Since the lower back and the hips are closely located, most of the times, their pain causes are also similar. The hips can be strained because of too many exercises or walking too much or even sitting too much. These are causes that are similar to lower back pain reasons like wrong postures and lifting too much weight. In medical terms the lower back pain refers to pain in the lumbosacral region of the spine, which is one of the most common medical conditions.

The pain in the hips and lower back are medical conditions that are responsible for disability resulting in significant loss of man-hours. This happens because of the uncomfortable level of pains that it causes. Forms of acute low back pain symptoms resolve within a few weeks. However there are some forms of hips and lower back pain which can lead to serious cases and here the pain may recur at intervals after an acute resolution. So the chronic lower back pain and hip pain can occur and persist over a longer period of time.

Hip and lower back pain can make matters worse for the person suffering from it as they are deprived of lot activities. Causes of the lower back pain and hips vary and hence their treatments are also different. Lower back pain causes are muscle strain, ligament sprain and soft tissue injuries. The hip pain is also caused due to similar problems and sitting or straining the butt because of too much exercise can lead to this form of pain.

The overuse of the back or over stretching or twisting and chronic improper posture can lead to hip pain and back pain. Injuries like falls and road traffic accidents cause back injury of varying severity. The term Herniated disc, which leads to nerve compression and has been associated with 憇ciatica' or a kind of radiating pain? Also heavy pressure on the lower back can be encountered while handling heavy machinery work can lead to back pain and hips. The ragged forms of sports which lead to this slipped disc condition are also causes of hip pain.

Spinal Stenosis that has been defined as the narrowing of the spinal canal can develop with age. This leads to lower back pain and also causes damage to the hips. The dancer's hip and other slip ailments are also known as the major causes of pain in the lower back. These pains are common in post menopausal women and are also known as the cause of compression fractures. The women going through this condition also go through pain in the hips and the lower back because of these problems.

Researches and studies have proven that there are various reasons for having hip pain and lower back pain. These may range from internal causes or external causes. Massaging the hips and the back, which have been strained because of work or wrong posture are considered to be beneficial for treating the problem and getting some relief from the same.
