West Idaho Orthopedics (WIO) was recently highlighted as a key provider of orthopedic services to West Valley Medical Center. West Idaho Orthopedics has offices conveniently located throughout the Treasure Valley in both Meridian and Caldwell.

West Idaho Orthopedics was selected for it's complete range of orthopaedic services covering acute injuries and chronic conditions affecting the musculoskeletal system, state-of-the art fracture care, arthroscopic surgery of the knee and shoulder, and total joint replacements.

WIO physicians repair nerve damage found in acute and degenerative hand injuries. Including: arthritis of the hand, carpal tunnel syndrome, cubital tunnel syndrome (ulnar nerve entrapment of the hand), distal radius fracture, dupuytren's contracture, flexor tendon injuries, fractures of the finger, ganglion (cyst) of the wrist, hand fractures, thumb fractures, trigger finger (hand), wrist fracture (scaphoid fracture), wrist joint replacement (wrist arthroplasty).

The practice features fracture care specialists who treat the full spectrum of upper and lower extremity orthopedic injuries. Including: ankle fractures, clavicle fracture (collarbone), hip fractures, humerus fracture, tibia fractures.

WIO physicians have been professional, college, high school consulting sports team physicians. Our doctors specialize in numerous sports medicine orthopedic procedures. Including: anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injuries treatment, knee arthroscopy, rotator cuff tears and shoulder arthroscopy.

Drs. George Nicola MD, Charles Schneider MD, John Smith MC, Michael Shevlin MD and Robert Hansen MD collectively perform hundreds of total joint replacement surgeries, arthroscopic knee and shoulder procedures, hand, wrist, and finger procedures annually. All are board-certified or board eligible physicians experienced in surgical as well as non-surgical treatment for orthopedic injuries and degenerative orthopedic care.

In addition to the five board-certified orthopedic surgeons and the physician assistant staff, the practice offers an on-site MRI at it's Meridian location. WIO also networks with area physical therapy and rehabilitation specialists throughout Treasure Valley to assist with care and recovery of orthopedic conditions.
Additionally, all physicians at West Idaho Orthopedics are board-certified and members of the Idaho Medical Association, American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, and the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery.
