Juicing for Rheumatoid Arthritis

An inflammatory chronic condition that primarily affects the joints and tissues is known as rheumatoid arthritis. According to statistics, approximately 1% of the world's population is affected with this condition. It is seen that women are more prone to this condition as compared to men. Although this condition affects people between the age group 40 and 50, there are cases of rheumatoid arthritis affecting people even in their 30s. Although various treatment methods are available, people are turning to natural treatment measures. One of the effective natural treatment for rheumatoid arthritis is juices.

Drinking juices for rheumatoid arthritis has become popular because it not only helps in countering pain caused by the condition, but it also helps in arresting progression of the disease. More the quantity of fruits and vegetables in the diet, less severe are the symptoms of the condition. Consuming juices of fruits and vegetables also provides the body with high quantities of minerals, vitamins, and antioxidants. Assimilation of the nutrients into the blood stream and cells is also faster.

Juicing for Rheumatoid Arthritis Relief

Juices are a powerhouse of nutrients. A minimum of three glasses of juices should be consumed through the day to counteract rheumatoid arthritis. Juices should be made right before they are to be consumed. Never make the juices and have them later in the day. If making fresh juices each time is not possible, then you will want to make the juices and store them in the refrigerator with a lot of ice in it, to ensure that the juice does not oxidize. Having only fruits or only vegetable juices through the day is not advisable. There has to be a healthy combination of fruits and vegetables in the diet for each of them have their own therapeutic properties. You may choose to combine both fruits and vegetables to make juices as well.

Cherry-Blueberry Juice
The combination of berries with cherries makes it a great juicing option for strong bones. Berries are rich in antioxidants, fiber, potassium and vitamins. Cherry juice is recommended for arthritis, as they are known for their anti-inflammatory properties. Combine 1 cup sweet berries with 2 cups of blueberries in a blender to make fresh juice. Consume immediately.

Kiwi-Blackberry Juice
Like I have already mentioned, berries are rich in antioxidants. Combining kiwis with blackberries gives relief from arthritis pain. Peel 3 kiwis and combine them with thoroughly washed 3 cups of blackberries. Blend the fruits to make fresh juice.

Fruit-Vegetable Juice
This is a great fruit and vegetable juice for arthritis treatment. You will need half cucumber, 1 cup spinach leaves, 2 carrots, 1 cup kale and half apple to make this juice. Combine all the ingredients and blend them together to get a wonderful glass of juice.

Broccoli-Carrot Juice
Take about 2 to 3 medium-sized florets of broccoli and combine them with 4 to 5 small carrots. Add 2 to 3 dandelion leaves and blend all the vegetables together and savor a wonderful healthy vegetable juice. If you do not have dandelion leaves handy, then you can use spinach leaves or beetroot tops as well.

Watermelon-Lime Juice
This is a juice which anyone and everyone will enjoy. Combine 1 cup pitted cherries with 1 cup watermelon with the rind removed and half lime. Make the juice, garnish with melon skewer and serve and/or enjoy.

These were just some of the juices which one ca drink to counter for rheumatoid arthritis. Some of the other vegetables and fruits which can be used for making the juices include pineapple, citrus fruits, turnip, cabbage, all dark green leafy vegetables, ginger, tomatoes, etc. Drinking plain pineapple juice is recommended for rheumatoid arthritis for it is overloaded with anti-inflammatory properties. Consult your medical adviser for the right quantity and right juices for your condition.
