It has been reported by the National Cancer Institute, that bone cancer is very rare. It will account for less than 1 percent of the cancers. There are more than 2300 people who are diagnosed with bone cancer every year. Bone cancer is of two types., primary bone cancer as well as secondary bone cancer. Secondary bone cancer is the cancer which has spread from some other parts of the body. There are many signs and symptoms of bone cancer in men. It is said that bone cancer is common in males than in females. However, these symptoms depend to a great extent on the severity and location of cancer.

According to many doctors, there are many noticeable signs of bone cancer. These signs include the tenderness and swelling, bone pain and weakened bones from the tumor. This may lead to development of fractures, unintentional weight loss and fatigue. It is also mentioned that if the tumor is left unnoticed without any medical attention for a long period of time, it can lead to a large lump. This lump can be felt on or near the bone itself. Even though not frequent, night sweats, chills and fever can also develop as a result of bone cancer. This will occur mainly when the cancer is extended to the tissues in other parts of the body.

Lump or swelling
According to various doctors, a possible sign of bone cancer is the swelling or lump at the affected area. They add that sometimes the occurrence of a lump is usually without any pain. however, it is reported that a common indicator of bone cancer versus other causes of pain and swelling are two-fold. There is a persistence of swelling and lump. This will not go away. However, there is no apparent cause of the lump or the swelling.

Pain
It has been reported by the National cancer institute that pain is one of the most common symptoms of bone cancer in men. There is lot of pain in the affected area. It is added that the swelling of the affected site can be very painful. However, it has been noted that all the bone cancers are not painful. If the occurrence of lump is without pain at first, it will become very painful as the cancer will progress. Additionally, the pain will occur during the night or while resting. The pain will get worse as the cancer will grow.

Weakened bones
It has been reported by the doctors that the bones may be weakened due to cancerous bone tumors. This will cause the bone to be fractured easily. This may even cause a fracture without any stress.

Thus, there are many symptoms of bone cancer in men. They must be recognized carefully and treatment must be taken in accordance with that.
