Question
Hello I hope I've come to the right person with this question I just did not know who to ask. I've had numb and very cold toes for about 18 years and nobody has been able to give me an answers at all. First if I pinch my toes there is a burning sensation that feels like coming from my bones and my toes feel colder then my feet do. but lately in the shower I've noticed the soles of both feet are very deep red and when I lift them up my soles are very white with a yellow ting to the skin if I leave my foot of the floor for about 20-30 seconds the white color goes back to deep red color also there is a dark blue but tinge but the color blue looks deep I also have the dark blue at the joint where the toe meets the foot. the tip of my toes are dark pink to deep red and the middle is very white with the blue at the end of the toes and heels. I also have this with my hands changing color pretty much the same washing them in warm water make's them a lot more and blue especially around the bottom joint of my fingers that joins to the palm of my hands and my right hand and fingers will be a lot colder then my left but both hands can get cold but it takes longer for my right to warm back up again. I have S.L.E Fibromyaglia and Sjogren's syndrome

Answer
Hi Sandy,

Your symptoms sound typical of Raynaud's syndrome that often accompanies SLE and other autoimmune diseases.  See the link below:

I would seek the care of a rheumatologist.  Typically this does not cause problems but is more of a nuisance.
