Chiropractic Knee Manipulation

Question
I have weekly chiropractic adjustments and it keeps me feeling great !!  I am 59.  I have heard that it is not safe to have knees adjusted...I have artritis and thought it might help but now I question this. Do you have an opinion on this.

Answer
sylvia,
If you indeed have a knee joint that is "out", you should have your spine adjusted properly first and then possibly receive an extremity manipulation "once".  This should take care of your problem.  If this is reoccurring it is due to an imbalanced spine.
I am glad that you are going to the chiro and are feeling great, however, more is not better when it comes to adjustments, so be careful of getting over-adjusted as this could actually weaken the integrity of your spine or create a situation of instability.
